Online Master Class

Ghent University is organizing an online free-of-charge MSCA Master Class in three modules.
Target audience:

  • Ghent University supervisors wishing to host an MSCA PF applicant;
  • MSCA PF applicants who will apply in call 2026 with Ghent University as their future Host Institution;
  • Young researchers currently working at Ghent University and interested to apply for an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship to go abroad, in the near future.

These interactive training days focus on proposal preparation for the 2026 Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships call. 

In previous years, applicants who attended our Master Class doubled their chances of success in the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call.

On 31 March, we will celebrate MSCA's 30th anniversary with an inspirational event featuring a keynote speaker from the European Commission on the future of MSCA, several funding opportunities, testimonials, and informal networking.

Eligibility criteria for MSCA PF applicants

  • Researchers of any nationality;
  • Applicants need to have obtained a PhD at the time of the deadline of the MSCA-PF call 2026 (9 September 2026), and have a maximum of 8 years full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date that the researcher was in a possession of a doctoral degree and certified by appropriate documents;
  • For European Fellowships: Applicants may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the Host Institution for more than 12 months in the three years immediately before the call deadline.
  • For Global Fellowships:  Applicants may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host organisation for the outgoing phase for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

Content of the Master Class

You will receive a three-day training to acquire a deep understanding of this funding scheme and its various aspects, such as training, Open Access, data management, ethical issues, communication, societal and economical impact, exploitation of results. There will also be testimonials from successful fellows and evaluators.

This training will help you to make your MSCA-PF proposal much more competitive.

How to apply

Find a supervisor

  • The external applicant needs to find a supervisor at Ghent University.
  • This supervisor will support the research proposal and, once the project has started, integrate the fellow into the research group.

Fill out an application form

  • Together, the supervisor and the fellow will send in the application form to the EU-team (deadline30 April 2026, 12:00 CET) where they demonstrate the mutual knowledge transfer which will take place between the fellow and the supervisor. This is an essential condition for a competitive proposal.
    Subsequently, selected candidates will receive an invitation to participate in the Master Class by 2 June 2026.
  • On completion of the programme, the participants will receive further support from the European research advisors.
