[FWO] Infosessie oproep 2026 Junior & Senior onderzoeksprojecten | Information session call 2026 Junior & Senior research projects
In januari 2026 opent het FWO de nieuwe oproep Junior en Senior Onderzoeksprojecten.
Op dinsdag 20 januari 2026 (10:00-12:00) organiseren we in samenwerking met het FWO een online informatiesessie over de nieuwe oproep.
Thema's
Om onderzoekers goed te informeren over de verschillende aspecten van een projectaanvraag, volgen er nog 2 bijkomende infosessies waarin UGentmedewerkers toelichting geven bij volgende thema's:
Woensdag 21 januari (10:00-11:00):
- Core facilities (Philip Van den Heede)
- Science communication (Tom De Mette)
Donderdag 22 januari (10:00-12:00):
- DMP & Rapportering (Stefanie De Bodt & Thomas Van de Velde)
- Kennisveiligheid (Vincent Eechaudt)
- Ethiek (Tom Geerinckx)
Schrijf je in
Je kan inschrijven voor 1 of meerdere infosessies. Alle sessies worden opgenomen en ter beschikking gesteld via de UGent-website.
Ondersteuning
Vanuit Team Vlaams-Federaal kijken we de projectaanvraag voor indiening bij het FWO na op een aantal ontvankelijkheidscriteria. Daarom geldt er een interne deadline voor indiening van projectaanvragen: 12 maart 2026. Indienen gebeurt via het FWO e-loket (‘submit to host institution’).
Om je ook vooraf te kunnen ondersteunen, werken we met een vooraanmelding. Als je voor 12 februari via volgende link doorgeeft dat je een onderzoeksproject plant in te dienen, kunnen we een proactieve opvolging garanderen:
- We bezorgen per e-mail een overzicht van de ontvankelijkheidscriteria en reglementaire wijzigingen ten opzichte van de oproep 2025.
- We brengen onze collega’s van het Biblioteam (onderdeel van Team Open Science/Cluster Universiteitsbibliotheek) op de hoogte dat je zal indienen. Zo kunnen zij jouw records in Biblio nakijken en ondersteuning bieden bij de export van publicaties naar het FWO e-loket.
- We kijken de ontvankelijkheid als (co-) promotor meteen na en signaleren zo eventuele ontvankelijkheidsproblemen tijdig.
Je kan steeds terecht bij Team Projecten Vlaams Federaal voor vragen omtrent de nieuwe oproep FWO Onderzoeksprojecten.

The FWO will launch its new call for Junior and Senior Research projects in January 2026.
In collaboration with the FWO, Ghent University organizes an online information session about this call on Tuesday 20 January 2026 (10:00-12:00).

You can register for 1 or more information sessions. All sessions will be recorded and made available on the website.
Support
Given that Team Vlaams-Federaal checks each project proposal against a number of eligibility criteria, the internal deadline for submission is 12 March 2026. You have to submit your project proposal via the FWO e-portal (‘submit to host institution’).
To support you in advance as well, there is a preregistration. If you inform Team National Funding via this link before 12 February that you are planning to submit a research project, we can guarantee a proactive follow-up:
- We send you an overview of the eligibility criteria and changes in the regulations as compared to last year by e-mail.
- We inform our colleagues from the Biblio team that you will submit a proposal. This allows them to check your records in Biblio and offer support with the export of publications to the FWO e-loket.
- We immediately check the eligibility as a (co-)promotor and warn you if there is a problem.
