[Noord-Amerika][Oceanië] Seed funding call for collaboration with UC Berkeley | Toronto | Queensland | Monash | Macquarie | Adelaide | Western Sydney University

With funding from the Ghent University Special Research Fund, the preferential partnerships between Ghent University and UC Berkeley, University of Toronto, University of Queensland, Monash University, Macquarie University, University of Adelaide and Western Sydney University hava launched calls for seed grant funding.

Purpose

Seed grants serve to broaden and deepen research collaboration between faculty and staff at Ghent University and its preferential partners. These seed grant aim to support new or ongoing research or educational partnerships in 2026. Examples of seed grant activities include but are not limited to:

  • Initiating a jointly organised seminar, webinar, workshop, conference, or another academic event
  • Fostering research collaboration between a Ghent University PhD student or post-doctoral researcher with peers at the partner university
  • Supporting the mobility of a Ghent University Masters or PhD student, post-doctoral researcher, or professor to the partner university

Funding

Applicants can apply for up to 5.000€. Projects requiring additional funding are also welcomed. However, applicants need to provide a clear justification for the additional funding required.

Eligibility criteria

Professors and post-doctoral researchers at Ghent University may submit a seed grant. All areas of research are welcome to apply. The beneficiaries can also be PhD students. Beneficiaries should always be Ghent University researchers.

Deadline

The upcoming deadline for application submissions is 15 September 2026.

Applicants can expect the selection outcome 3 weeks after the deadline.
