Join and contribute to the 4th Belgian Research Software Engineering Day on December 15th, 2026
We are pleased to invite you to the 4th Belgian Research Software Engineering Day, which will take place on December 15th, 2026 at VIB-UGent, Tech Lane Ghent Science Park in Ghent, Belgium. If you are working with software in a research context or develop tools, write code, or support scientific computing, don't hesitate to submit your contribution to present or demonstrate your work.
You can already register for this year’s edition and send in your contributions.
During this day, you will have the opportunity to gather with other research software engineers to share your vast collective experience. Join the community for an exciting day of talks to discuss the challenges you face and the bugs you chase!
The following keynote speakers were invited to present their work and insights:
- Carole Goble, The University of Manchester, UK
- Lesley de Cruz, VUB, Belgium
- Fenne Riemslagh, eScience Center, the Netherlands
For the parallel sessions, we welcome submissions on software engineering practices in research, FAIR software in practice, development of and experiences with large language models, reproducible workflows, research software for High Performance Computing, and computational challenges in sciences.
Formats include posters, demos and (short and long) presentations. You can submit your contribution by October 25th, 2026.

We nodigen je uit voor de 4e Belgische Research Software Engineering Day, die plaatsvindt op 15 december 2026 in VIB-UGent, Tech Lane Ghent Science Park in Gent, België. Als je met software werkt in een onderzoekscontext, tools ontwikkelt, code schrijft of wetenschappelijke computing ondersteunt, aarzel dan niet je bijdrage in te dienen om je werk te presenteren of te demonstreren.

Tijdens deze dag krijg je de kans om samen te komen met andere onderzoekssoftware-ingenieurs om je ervaringen te delen. Maak deel uit van de community voor een interessante dag vol presentaties om de uitdagingen te bespreken waar je tegenaan loopt en de bugs die je achterna zit!

Formaten omvatten posters, demo's en (korte en lange) presentaties. Je kan je bijdrage indienen tot 25 oktober 2026.
