ACL Anthology

ACL Anthology is a digital archive linked to the Association for Computational Linguistics. It currently contains nearly 90.000 conference papers on the study of computational linguistics and natural language processing.

Access

The database is freely available.

Search operators

On the homepage you can search for conferences of the Association for Computational Linguistics, or search for other conferences.

Via the search field at the top right you can enter search terms, combine them with the Boolean operators AND, OR and NOT, or search for an author's name. It's best to use double quotation marks to keep terms together (e.g. "nonverbal behaviour"). The search results can be filtered by author, conference or Paper Metadata ('Author', 'Event' or 'Paper Metadata' tabs), or sorted by relevance or year of publication.

You can download the individual articles (PDF) from all conference proceedings

Export

There are several ways to export to Zotero:

  • Open Zotero, and click on the Cite button in the ACL Anthology database. Download the Bibtex file, and select the folder in which you want to import the reference into Zotero.
  • Export the reference to Zotero using the Zotero connector in your browser.
  • In Zotero you can add new items via a DOI or URL. To do so, use the magic wand icon in Zotero.

If you select a conference report, you can download the PDF of each article, export the reference via a Bibtex file, and (usually) see all abstracts.
