Data analysis resources

Are you looking for some resources to improve your data science skills, or information on software like R and RStudio? We'll give you a few options below.

Data analysis examples by UCLA

The webpage data analysis examples by UCLA lists a number of statistical analysis techniques and their application using different statistical packages. Each page includes several examples of when the technique might be used along with sample data, an example analysis and an explanation of the output, followed by references for more information.

Data science e-books

Data Science for Psychologists is an online book aimed specifically at using R for psychological research, but it's also useful for students of the humanities and other biological or social sciences.

R for Data Science is more generally focused on data science and will teach you how to do data science with R.

Data science in the library

Of course you can also find lots of data science resources in the library. Have a browse through our online catalogue lib.ugent.be to find what you need. Use the filters in the left-hand column to limit results to your faculty for those works most closely related to your field of research. Or you can filter on "book" and "online" to find data analysis books with electronic access. Do note that you might have to be connected to the UGent network to view them.
